Kristina Craft

Kristina is from the Iowa City, Iowa area.  She earned her bachelor's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 2013 with a focus in Sustainability and Water Resources and a minor in studio art from the University of Iowa.  By joining Matt's research team she hopes to combine her interests in water resources and environmental stewardship with her new interest in agricultural.  Her career goals involve combining the soil and water conservation field with water pollution mitigation practices for the Midwest region.  Kristina plans to focus on research related to nutrient and sediment loss reduction practices as she earns a Master's of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering at Iowa State.

Emily Waring

Emily is from Omaha, Nebraska, graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Biological Systems Engineering with an environmental emphasis and a Water Science minor. She joined Matt’s group in August 2014 and assists in the drainage water quality monitoring at the Gilmore City research site. She was drawn to the Ag Water Management group because it is working with farmers to improve water quality and increase crop yield. She enjoys doing field work and hopes to model nonpoint source pollution in her career.

Bethany Brittenham

Bethany comes from Superior, Nebraska.  In May 2015 she received her undergraduate degree in Biological Systems Engineering with an environmental emphasis from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is now pursuing an MS in Agricultural Engineering with an emphasis on soil and water quality at ISU.   Within Matt's research team she is working on the expanded STRIPS project, focusing on improving ag runoff quality.  Her career goal is to work directly with producers through Extension services and by consulting.  As a part of Matt's research team she is enjoying the diversity of team members and the variety of people and expertise from which to learn.

Brian Dougherty

Brian recently graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in Ecological Engineering with minors in Bioenergy and Chemistry.  Prior to attending OSU he was the owner/operator of a dairy farm near Waukon, Iowa.  Brian joined the Ag Water Management research group in July 2016.  He is pursuing an MS in Agricultural and Biosystems Engeering with a focus on soil and water resources.  As part of Matt's team Brian will be working on water quality projects at the Northeast Research and Demonstration Farm near Nashua.
